Axis Diffusion Tea Set by Carol McNicoll, 1980s

Teapot and four cups designed by Carol MacNicoll for Axis Diffusion in the late 1980s.

'Carol McNicoll (born 1943) is an English studio potter whose work is mainly decorative slipcast ware, she is credited with helping to transform the British ceramics scene in the late 1970s.' The series which looks like crumbled paper is part of a series published in a limited edition of 500 copies worldwide.

'McNicoll says of her work "I am entertained by making functional objects which are both richly patterned and comment on the strange world we have created for ourselves."' Highly collectable piece.

Very good vintage condition with minor signs of use. The ceramic has crackle finish.
